Pieces of Work was founded in 2024 in New York City by Emily Pawlyshyn, a former Wall Street professional who became all too aware that the conventional options for work-appropriate clothing and what is stylish and cute are diametrically opposed. In an effort to create work clothes that women can get excited about, Pieces of Work was born.

Our emphasis is on creating professional silhouettes that are timeless, versatile, and comfortable for working professionals. We design and manufacture all clothing ethically and with easy-care fabrics that mean even if your suit is balled up in your bag for a few days, you can throw it in the washing machine, and it will be good to go without expensive dry-cleaning bills.

Our name—Pieces of Work—is an ode to ambitious women everywhere who have been called far worse for their success. We're reclaiming the phrase and encouraging you to proudly be a "Piece of Work"—a self-advocate, a disruptor of the status quo, and a champion of other women.
